These are the facebook's own set of built-in keyboard shortcuts.

These are the Chrome keywords for facebook :
  • Alt+1 -Return you to Home
  • Alt+2 -To view the Wall of the profile
  • Alt+3 -To pull down the Friends Requests list in there
  • Alt+4 -To retrieve the Messages list of the profile

Facebook block ads How to remove ads on Facebook page

Ads on your Facebook page can be quite irritating. To turn them off, simply get Greasemonkey and install this Greasemonkey script – Facebook Cleaner . This will remove all advertisements from your Facebook page.

You can go stealth for specific people in Facebook chat using the 'Friend Lists' option in Facebook. Simply make a Dummy List, add friends to it, and become invisible to that list.

Enable Facebook Chat in Firefox's sidebar
If you don't wish to keep the Facebook window open while you use Facebook Chat, you can enable chat in Firefox's sidebar. For this,
» Right-click on Firefox Bookmarks toolbar > New Bookmark

6. Know when someone blocks/delete you on Facebook

With X-Friends , you can now track your friends who block/delete you from Facebook. I haven't tried this myself but you can give it a shot.

Updating your Facebook wall automatically when you make a new blog post can be done either by using a WordPress plugin called Wordbook or by using a Facebook application like RSS Grafitti . I personally use RSS Graffiti to automatically update TechExplorer's Facebook fan page as and when a new blog post is made here because it's easy to setup and has decent features.

How avail a free @facebook.com Email address?


“Getting a free @facebook.com Email address is very easy”

Facebook's latest offering is the Facebook Email Service which is claimed to be the Gmail or Yahoo mail killer because of the quick emailing and social connectivity features. In order to get a email address like goharsh@facebook.com which is similar to gmail.com service, its suggested to check out the following tip.


To set up a free @facebook.com address, go to your Messages view and click the “Claim your Facebook email” link. Your email address will match your public username, for example:
Profile: facebook.com/username
Email: username@facebook.com
If you don't have a username yet, you can choose one when you create your email address.
Once you set up your email address, people can email you using any traditional email system (eg, Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail), and the emails will be delivered to your Facebook Messages. When you send messages to external email addresses, the emails will be formatted to look like Facebook messages, including your name, your profile picture and your message.


One more use of this is that your homepage URL will become www.facebook.com/username/

Check out your existing URL of your facebook homepage after login. It will be having unrelated random symbols/alphabets. But after registering for facebook email it will comes to this format www.facebook.com/username
